Activities and excursions

In case you strive for activities and adventures other than those that can be provided by our beautiful surroundings, you have the opportunity to reach either the south or the westcoast in about 45 minutes by car. The coast is great to enjoy the sun, diving and family trips. Whether you want to go to the zoo, to public water parks, the aviation school or the go-cart racetrack... there will be something to suit everyone's taste! Surfers from all over the world come to the virgin west coast where steep rocks meet the waves of the Atlantic.

Close to the house you will find the Santa-Clara barrier lake. With an area of about 2000 ha the barrier lake is one of the biggest in Europe. The original villages around the lake represent the real, authentic Alentejo. You do not necessarily need to go to the coast if you want to swim or go for a boat trip!

Cultural highlights await you in historic cities like Silves, Távira or Sagres. This includes the medieval castle of Silves, where also an annual medieval festival takes place, the westernmost Currywurst of Europe, music events and much more.

You can go to Pereiras by car within 10 minutes. In the village there is a little restaurant / cafè where they serve good, home made Portuguese dishes.

For bigger purchases, shopping, night life and all this we can name you a couple of places in the Algarve or closer to the west coast. The closest train station is in Sabóia. From there you can go by train to Faro, Lisbon or any other city.
